KING HENRY THE GREAT

"I want to present the brand, not the collection."
-Guillaume Henry

Creative director of the Carven brand, Guillaume Henry has taken the ideal of classic menswear and transformed it into a whole new dimension. The S/S13 quirky yet undeniably cool showing of the collection was presented in a Florentine Velodrome, and consisted of models strutting down running tracks, with some even taking to cycling.

The stylised fashions that the models dawned were inspired by an 'office meets the weekend look'. Rest assured the clothing is too die for, and presents that dreamy combination of the chic and polished male. The fresh pops of colour and botanical prints complete the collection and the tailoring of every single garment is perfection. The best part about the Carven collection is that it is affordable luxury, and will not leave you feeling like you just sold a kidney for a shirt. The structural coats and jackets were particularly stunning and reminded us of something that the young John F. Kennedy would have worn.  If the aim of this collection was for Guillaume Henry to present Carven to the world, or to inspire a 'Carven Moment' then we need to issue a word of warning, because it appears that there is a new king in town.
