She has got Lotta talent (pun intended).
Finnish freelance illustrator, graphic designer and art director Lotta Nieminen’s work is incredibly rich and inspiring. The ridiculously talented and multidisciplinary designer has studied at the University of Art & Design (Helsinki) and the Rhode Island School of Design, and has since worked for fashion magazines Trendi in Finland and Pentagram Design in New York.
Nieminen’s work is superlative. Her portfolio of typography, graphic design and illustration offers the perfect polarity of intense minimalism and extreme detailing. Nieminen was awarded with the Art Directors Club Young Guns Award in 2010 and was selected for Print Magazines annual New Visual Artists review.
Her work is clean and deliberate, textured and colorful. She draws, cuts, scans, photocopies and photoshops to creative multilayered illustrations which are drawn from her Scandinavian background as a child and cosmopolitan lifestyle as an adult.
Check out her website for more examples of Lotta Nieminen’s spectacular practice. (Be warned: everything about her will make everything you do seem inferior and ultimately make you miserable. Don’t you just hate really, really talented people?)
