“Geometry, like physics or mathematics, defines how our world is constructed”.
And I find waking up each morning difficult. Tilman Zitzmann makes me feel like the laziest person on earth. The graphic designer produces and presents a new geometrical composition every day to the internet. The artist has recently posted his 250th consecutive work to his digital diary - Geometry Daily.
Although his minimal experiments are created digitally in vector and bitmap software, Zitzmann challenges the assumption that graphic design requires producing ‘a perfect image’. Zitzmann’s practice operates like an optical illusion, his work seem tangible as they appear to have been made on paper - a process executed though photoshop trickery.
There is a visual predictability in the artists compositions as he concentrates on circular and rectangular forms. His work rejects the complex dependencies of life through an exploration into the functionality of simplistic shapes.
